Meet the doctor
Henry C. Yu, DMD
Dr. Henry Yu is one of the valley's leading general practice dentists. He was born in Taiwan, came to the United States at an early age, and was raised in Southern California. Dr. Yu is a member of the following professional organizations: American Dental Association, Arizona Dental Association, Central Arizona Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics. When not practicing dentistry he enjoys CrossFit, hiking, biking, scuba diving, traveling, fishing, camping with his family, and most important of all, spending time with his wife Sara, and his two young children, Madelyn and Myles.
Experience
Dr. Yu sincerely believes that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal dental health. He strives to provide “dental health care” vs. “disease care”. He provides this by keeping you well-informed through quality patient education. Dr. Yu is experienced in treating patients of all ages and offers a broad range of treatment options from the most basic to full mouth restorations. He excels in restorative dentistry, oral surgery, implants, and Invisalign treatment.
In 2021, Dr. Yu received a Mastership from the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD). MAGD stands for Master of the Academy of General Dentistry. Earning Mastership takes dedication to dental continuing education (CE) beyond graduation. Less than 2 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Masters. When you see a dentist with MAGD after their name, you can rest assured that they care about knowing the latest techniques and best practices in dentistry. AGD Masters practice these techniques in a classroom setting multiple times a year — not every dentist does this. TO BECOME AN AGD MASTER, A DENTIST MUST: Complete over 1,100 credit hours of CE, earn 400 of those 1,100 credits in hands-on courses., and pass an exam equal in difficulty to board certification exams. Dentists are often the first line of defense against many serious conditions that start in the mouth. And dentists who have earned Mastership (MAGD) in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) go even further. Becoming an AGD Master means a dentist has taken part in some of the most rigorous continuing dental education programs today. These dentists know about the most up-to-date technologies and procedures and care for your whole body's well-being. AGD Masters make a commitment to care that goes above and beyond—they are pulling for all of your oral health needs.
